Author Interview – Christina Smith

When you are not writing, how do you like to relax? I read, spend time with my family.

How often do you write? And when do you write? When I first started, it was all the time. It just poured out of me. I wrote like that for my first few books, but once I got used to the fact that I had the ability, I let up a bit, and I try to just write during the day while my kids are a school and my husband is at work. But really I write when it’s flowing, because it isn’t always.

Do you have an organized process or tips for writing well? Do you have a writing schedule? No, it just comes to me, and I write it. And I want a schedule, but mostly, I write when the words are flowing.

Sometimes it’s so hard to keep at it – What keeps you going? My readers. For some reason I have more of a following for the Moon’s glow series, and have many people asking when the next book will be out.

Have you met any people in the industry who have really helped you? Yes, a couple of writers, and a blogger. Ashley Stoyanoff, author of The Souls marked series. Blogger—Jonel Boyko, Vicky Savage, author of The Transcender series has helped me with marketing, and Christina Hicky from Ensconced in YA, has been very helpful, with getting my book out there, and upping my followers on all my sites.

What do you hope people will take away from your writing? How will your words make them feel? Happy I hope, and want to read more.
